The Blackwater Lodge at Teahupoo is for anyone looking for an authentic getaway near one of the worlds most dynamic waves, but more importantly - in an authentic Tahitian village with great restaurants, activities and real local style. Teahupoo is a good 2 hour drive from Papeete, It is a laid back, beautiful town, very reminicent of Hawaii 30 years ago. Its a great destination and offers plenty of diverse activities beyond surfing. All of this combinds to make a great destination for families as well. We reccomend renting a car at the airport as taxi transfers cost close to $200 usd each way. Depending on availability a Blackwater representative may be available for lower cost transfers. please inquire.

The beach at Teahupoo is visable from the upper floor and is a short walk from the bure. There are many breaks nearby as well as horseback riding, scuba diving, hiking and other activities. We are offering as add on options, surf guides with taxi boats, fishing and full meal plans including breakfast, and dinner.





We ARE PROUD TO ANOUNCE THE grand opening of The Blackwater Lodge in Teahupoo. Officially, the Lodge opened for business to a few select guests in Feb 2007. During the month of May the Lodge served as the main gathering spot for the crew of the Billabong Pro. The lodge is now open to guests from around the world. The Lodge is a 3 unit complex set on the hill overlooking Teahupoo, it was designed and contstructed using native Tahitian materials and craftsmanship. The main, middle unit sleeps four. The smaller units on the left and right house the kitchen and dining areas as well as an activity room. The Lodge can accomodate more than four but requires sleeping in pullout beds in the dining wing and activity room. We reccomend a stay at the Lodge either before or after a trip on The Cascade or as a vacation unto itself. Direct flights are available from LAX, NYC and Sydney making for a quick, hassle free trip to paradise.
